Local production in Germany, energy saving programs, heat recovery in our own plants and an increased use of sustainable materials and sustainable packaging: with a growing number of measures, we are protecting people and our planet.
The entire uvex group has set highly ambitious goals – for environmental protection and a greener future. For many years, we have been working together to reduce and neutralize our ecological footprint: with a special focus on climate protection, the careful use of raw materials and resourcesaving processes in the production of our entire product range.
Today, our mission protecting people is more relevant than ever. Based on our obligation to protect people, the uvex group has always been aware of its responsibility to society and the environment. I am firmly convinced that the topic of sustainability will continue to pick up speed even after the coronavirus pandemic has ended. Against this background, the entire uvex group has committed itself to long-term CO2-neutral growth.

1,113 tons of CO2 savings
By relocating production and supply chains from Asia to Europe, we save 1,113 tons of CO2 every year. And every year it will be more.
Eyewear frames made from recycled fishing nets
Protecting the ocean: Thanks to the resource-saving recycling process of old fishing nets, for the uvex ocean series, we do not use crude oil in the process of producing the collection’s frames: that’s how we save up to 55 % of CO2. Additionally, we use 100 % biodegradable material for the lenses and sustainable packaging. And all of this without sacrificing function or design.
